Recommended Venues
Finding just the right place for your celebration is important.  There are a number of things to consider.  Location, ease of access for your guests, parking, how many people will be attending the event and, if you're using Catering by Dinner is Served, will the venue allow an "off-premises" caterer.

Here's a list of venues we like.  Most are within an hour's drive from Boston.

Gloucester, Massachusetts
The Harbor Room
http://www.theharborroom.com/
The Harbor Room is a wonderful 1200 sq. foot turn-of-the-century hall that opens out onto a large deck over the harbor waters to provide a panoramic view of Gloucester's inner harbor.  This backdrop of seascape enhances any occasion or function and provides your gathering with an environment unlike any other on the harbor.  The hall provides an intimate atmosphere with a casual elegance from the view.  If your guest list is larger than 65 - 75, the Harbor room can accommodate a tent for a lovely outdoor setting.

The venue has parking for over 100 cars at both of their facilities (within a few short steps from one another).  The Harbor Room is handicapped accessible.

Lincoln, Massachusetts
The Pierce House
http://www.piercehouse.com/
This elegant Georgian mansion was built in 1900 by John H. Pierce (1830-1910). In 1964 the Pierce family left the house and more than 30 surrounding acres of woodlands and rolling lawns to the Town of Lincoln.

The architectural design of the front facade is based on the Vassel-Craigie-Longfellow House, which was built in 1759, and still stands on Brattle Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  Since 1964, the house has become a unique location for wedding receptions and celebrations.

The Codman Carriage House

This charming location has beautiful grounds that provide a gracious country setting for special events. The two gardens -- an Italian Garden with reflecting pool and an English Cottage Garden -- are particularly well-suited for wedding ceremonies.

The Carriage House has been renovated specifically for functions. It accommodates 65-75 guests inside, and up to 130 guests with a tent.  Tours of the c. 1740 Codman House may be arranged in advance for guests attending weekend functions.  For more information, call (781) 891-4882, extension 233 or 235.

The Codman Farm
http://lincoln-ma.com/town_groups/codmanfarm.htm
The original Codman family farm, sometimes referred to as "The Grange," was established in the early 19th century on the former estate of Chambers Russell, one of Lincoln's founders.  The farm had been in continuous operation for over 150 years, with respectable dairy, vegetable and fruit operations. It was one of only a handful of working farms in Lincoln remaining after the Second World War.

The Codman Barn may be rented for weddings and other functions.  It's rustic and funky, but definitely a great place for an event if you're looking for a casual fun atmosphere.  There are several scenic places on the property for an outdoor wedding ceremony.  For more information call the farm, 781-259-0456.
